Hello! I’ve been a patient of Dr. Fleischmann’s for about 10 years now, and I just want to say, he is truly remarkable. When I was about 20 years old, I found Dr. Fleischmann online, and after my first session, I was wowed. He was everything a doctor should be: superbly smart, concerned and invested, empathetic, wonderfully personable, and honest; his wit and charm are added bonuses. When it comes down it, though, I feel Dr. Fleischmann’s true brilliance is in his continuing commitment and success towards his patients’ betterment, health, and wellness. In 10 years as a patient of his, Dr. Fleischmann has continued to be nothing short of excellent, and I couldn’t be more thrilled, thankful, or grateful!-

MY PRACTICE:

As a Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst in Dallas, Tx., I want to tell you about myself in your search for a psychiatrist who would be a good match for your needs. I am Board certified in Psychiatry and certified (by the American Psychoanalytic Association) in Psychoanalysis. My approach in therapy is to first make an accurate diagnosis of the problem and then utilize my skills in helping you past your difficulties. In addition to using medication when indicated, I listen to your story and then strive to find the hidden causes for your problems, and then unlock them so that they will not continue to interfere with your life. Unlike most psychiatrists in Dallas, I provide psychotherapy in addition to being able to prescribe medication. Therefore, you would not need to have both a counselor and a psychiatrist with separate expenses for each.I have expertise in treating anxiety, depression and personality disorders, working with individuals, teenagers and couples. I also have extensive experience in treating relationship issues, difficulty in getting along with others, phobias, compulsive behavior, social anxiety, self-defeating behavior, sexual dysfunction, and ADD.
Intuition and plain common sense are essential characteristics for any competent therapist. Some counselors and psychologists may possess those qualities. But, in addition, I do have a medical degree (which allows me to prescribe medication) and many years of additional training in the human mind as a result of my psychoanalytic education. It was an extensive education at an esteemed institute in New York, lasting over five years. That coupled with decades of treating patients has allowed me to hone my skills. Experience is an invaluable asset in becoming a competent therapist.. I have a solo practice, dedicated to the needs of my individual patients. Everything is kept strictly confidential. The initial session is 45 minutes. The treatment is an alliance between both of us and we can discuss what we mutually believe to be beneficial to you. I believe I am very responsive to my patients, timely and available. I am a good listener, ask the right questions and I am empathic to my patients. I would want to learn a great deal about you, what you struggle with, what has happened in the past and the present dilemmas in your life. by understanding you in depth I could find those hidden conflicts underlying your difficulties and help you to find the tools to overcome the problems. The goal of course is to free you from those problems and to lead a happier life.
I am not a provider with any insurance company and therefore expect payment at the time of the first meeting. If we set up a regular schedule of visits, I then bill for visits at the end of the month. I can provide a receipt with all necessary information for you to file for out-of-network benefits with your insurance company. If I were to see you for just medication, the visits are shorter and the fees are less.
My credentials include my license to practice medicine in Texas, Board Certification by the American board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Certification in Psychoanalysis, past President of the Dallas Psychoanalytic Society, past Fellow to the Board of Professional Standards and Councilor to the Executive Council of the American Psychoanalytic Association. I have also been a psychiatric consultant to the Dallas Medical Society for impaired physicians.Feel free to call and leave a message on my voice mail. I respond to my messages in a timely manner.
